Turning her head slowly back to where she'd left him standing, she was surprised to find him still there. Perhaps there was some hope after all.....Gazing at his face she noticed that he seemed to be in deep thought, had her words actually given him cause to think? Then again they had both just spoken more that they usually did to each other, perhaps it was just the shock that kept him standing there. If he acted violently towards her now (though a dominant part of her knew he wouldn't) she wouldn't be able to fight back, no she'd let him beat her or rape her....whichever... However, the still sensible part of her thoughts told her to stop thinking such things and face the truth. If he hadn't done it by now, he wasn't going to. Still, she'd felt his arousal when she had kissed him. She hadn't made it known to him that she had, which had probably enforced his beliefs about the Knights, but how was she supposed to react? Either way he'd think she was a whore...... and she felt like one too. Such a strange thing to feel when she was still a virgin....
Anne was unprepared as he took one of her hands in his and started to kiss her knuckles. Each small, slow and tender kiss made her heart leap in her chest. Something that she'd never felt before, not even with the Knights, something she'd been waiting to feel. Was this love? Had it finally come knocking on her door? Or was it all some callous trick her mind and body was playing on her? The latter was what she usually believed but for some reason a part of her still hoped. She let herself stare back into his enchanting eyes, she could almost believe he was looking at her the way she'd always dreamed for a man to look at her.
She kept his gaze as he spoke softly to her, she barely had to listen to his words to know that he meant them, but she listened anyway. Anne knew her gaze had softened completely towards him and she wanted to smile at him. Genuinely smile at him. Not for a crowd, not to taunt him, not to play games. His words made her feel as if her heart was melting, something she would have deemed entirely impossible had it been a few moments ago.
Then he looked down as if he were embarrassed, which made her tilt her head slightly, curious as to what his next words would be. His next words didn't sink in until he'd squeezed her hand. So he.....he...he loved her? Loved, love? Her expression was most likely one of disbelief and she couldn't help it. Ever since that wedding night, she'd always believed that he had no feelings for her, especially not any feelings of love. It had been so clear....so very clear....and yet he loved her? The thought wasn't unwelcome though, infact it filled her with a strange joy, she wanted to either jump into his arms or kiss him. And if she was honest with herself, she'd love to do both. Then he whispered to her, in such a sweet and sensual tone she felt as if she'd do anything just to hear him do that again. All her new thoughts startled and bewildered her, one minute she desired him, the next she hated him and then she loved him! No wonder he had wanted to leave the room when she seemed to be sending such mixed messages and extreme ones at that!
His words were what mattered though, he was suggesting their wedding night again but no longer as crudely as he or herself had done before. He even asked her if she wanted to, there was no command in it just a request, a question, a query. She wanted to forget everything and nod her head and let him sweep her off her feet. But what were the consequences, if there were any? Her beloved Knights were indeed nothing to her and perhaps she'd later feel as if she'd betrayed them but did she really have a right to feel like that? After all it wasn't as if she were married to them.....Edmund was her husband, she should be giving herself to him not waiting for them....
That last thought was the reason for her next actions. Smiling softly, she slid her hand from his and slowly caressed the side of his face, her eyes travelled from his eyes to his lips and with her other hand she traced the outline of them with her forefinger. Stopping in the middle of his lips she looked back into his eyes and whispered to him in a nervous yet silky voice,
I want to, Edmund.
Though she had barely said any words she hoped he understood everything that was meant by them. Then before he could reply she kissed him again. Starting off slow before quickly becoming passionate again, the feel of his lips and his tongue were no longer unfamiliar, it was as if she'd known them all her life. Her thoughts seemed to disappear almost entirely as she gave in to all the desires she had kept hidden for so long. She only hoped that Edmund was feeling the same way, everything that had happened thus far was new ground to her and she wasn't sure whether she'd be able to go through the long night ahead without ending their dinner properly. Though this was hardly 'proper'!
(OOC - Hehe, yep 'finally' is the right word! ;D)
